Illinois raises funds with new number plates
The state of Illinois lunched a new design of vanity number plates as a means to help raise money for the state budget. The state number plate maker has will give a share of the revenue raised to the budgeting authorities.
Illinois will now have several different designs to choose from. The colours range from yellow to green to blue, with different themes on offer. Some number plates have text restrictions to make sure no profanities are used.
The number plates cost an extra $87 on top of the standard registration fee.
