An unusual number of thefts of car number plates hit a Sandhurst neighbourhood over the weekend.
An unusually high number of number plates were stolen from cars parked in the College Town area between Friday and Saturday.
Detectives say most of the thefts were of rear number plates and some have been found discarded nearby.
So far the thieves have targeted a Toyota, a BMW and a Vauxhall Astra in Branksome Hill Road, a Citroen Saxo and a Seat Ibiza in College Road and a Rover in Richmond Road.
"This is an unusual spate of thefts and we believe there must be somebody out there that knows who’s responsible," Margaret Weber, Neighbourhood Watch coordinator for Bracknell Forest Police, said.
"I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police as soon as possible."
Advice for motorists includes parking in well-lit areas and putting theft-resistant number plates.
The number plates, which are approved by the DVLA, are tested to make sure they either resist attempts to remove them for at least three minutes or they break apart and become unusable once removed.
