Two directors of David Mervyn, who are facing charges of issuing fake number plates, failed to appear in court on Tuesday.
Vincent Shipperly and his wife, Vanessa, were due to appear at the Kanawa court to be charged.
Their lawyer, Paul Swan, claimed had failed to appear due to illness, prompting the judge to comment "They both happened to get ill at the same time"?
"Mrs Shipperly is ill and Mr Shipperly is nursing her" Mr Swan replied.
The judge set September 15th as the new date to hear the case in which David Mervyn Company and Kenyan Financial Authority (KFA) officials are accused of making fake number plates.
Fifteen people are accused of fraudulently making and supplying car number plates and seven other suspects of illegal distribution.
Investigations have discovered hundreds of false number plates country-wide. If the suspects are convicted they face up to 12 months in jail as well as court costs. In addition, the falsely registered motor vehicles will be impounded by the state.
According to documents submitted to court, most vehicles with fake number plates are imported cars and American motorbikes.
