How to Remove a 5D Number Plate
Here’s how to remove your current number plate safely:
Step 1: If screws are holding it in place, unscrew them with the right tool. Keep the screws if you’ll be using them again.
Step 2: If it’s fixed with adhesive, gently warm the area with a hairdryer or heat gun to loosen the bond.
Step 3: Use a plastic trim tool or old card to lift the edges carefully—avoid metal tools that can scratch the paint.
Step 4: Slowly ease the plate away, working around the edges until it lifts cleanly.
Step 5: Clean off any leftover adhesive using remover or soapy water, then wipe the area dry.
Step 6: Before attaching your new plate, make sure the surface is clean and dry to help the adhesive stick properly.
